I really like how Elizabeth, whereas are appreciating the small issues of life, also brings in haiku. Perfect.

This beautiful little book with it is mild and illuminating touch is stunning, elevating, endearing. Her experience from inside the limitations attributable to severe illness, her mindful and appreciative observations of her tiny snail companion, and the amazingly assorted and detailed harvest of her research on snails.. from haiku to obscure scientific texts are interwoven seamlessly and enchantingly. It’s witness in its magnificence and ease to her indelible life affirming spirit. It is not about her illness or her wrestle with it ( which in itself says volumes about her) and at its heart, not really about her beloved little snail and his/her species ( snails are hermaphroditic we be taught). At its coronary heart it is about dwelling in mindful presence to life, to all sentient beings in wonder and celebration. Thanks Beth.
