Cabinet of Natural Curiosities book

Cabinet of Natural Curiosities / Das Naturalienkabinett / Le cabinet des curiosités naturelles (English, German and French Edition) by Albertus Seba (Author), Rainer Willmann (Contributor), Jes Rust (Contributor), Volker Wissemann (Contributor). A most uncommon collection of natural specimens. Albertus Seba’s Cupboard of Curiosities is among the 18th century’s greatest natural history achievements and remains one of the prized pure historical past books of all time. Although scientists of his period typically collected pure specimens for research purposes, Amsterdam-primarily based pharmacist Albertus Seba (1665-1736) was unmatched in his passion. His amazing assortment of animals, vegetation and insects from all around the globe gained international fame during his lifetime. In 1731, after a long time of accumulating, Seba commissioned illustrations of every specimen and arranged the publication of a 4-quantity catalog-from unusual and unique crops to snakes, frogs, crocodiles, shellfish, corals, birds, and butterflies, as well as unbelievable beasts, corresponding to a hydra and a dragon.

Seba’s scenic illustrations, often mixing vegetation and animals in a single plate, were uncommon even for the time. The extra peculiar creatures from the gathering-some of them now extinct-have been as curious in Seba’s day as they are today.

Our excellent replica is taken from a rare, handcolored original. The introduction supplies background details about the fascinating tradition to which Seba’s curiosities belonged.

An enormous e-book of illustrations, together with birds, insects, botanicals, coral, sea life, and more. Excellent large-scale coffee desk book. Definitely a top quality product for the price.

I’ve been wanting this e-book for a long time, but could not find an inexpensive copy. This version is simply gorgeous. There may be an older edition that has a prettier cover, in my opinion, but this one is sort of beautiful for the cheap price. This can be a very massive, heavy book. It is beautiful on a coffee desk where it is handy to via while enjoying your espresso, or you can do as I did and put it on a tabletop easel. It is, in spite of everything, like a work of art. It is simple spend hours having fun with all the interesting drawings inside. For those who have been in desperate need for some art for your partitions, you possibly can even (oh horrors!) cut up the guide and body some of these stunning pages. Effectively worth the money, I extremely advocate this book.

The eclectic photographs on this properly designed e-book are a diverse and fantastic reference for all types of attention-grabbing subjects.
